Japanese Pancakes
Hypothetical scenario. Let’s say the food oversight organization of your first world country isn’t operating at full capacity. What do you do? Do you go to a Japanese Supermarket and buy food imported from a country with a fully operational food oversight organization?
If so, you might have some delicious pancakes! They taste a little more like angel food cake than the pancakes I usually eat. Make sure you have some beverages ready, these things will make you thirsty!
Get a 150g packet of Morinaga pancake mix ($1) and mix it with 1 egg (17¢) and 1/2 cup of milk (13¢).
Put pan on stove over low heat (you can bake pancakes on aluminum foil if you get creative).
Pour mix into pan.
Makes 3 pancakes.
Cook until bubbling.
Flip.
Cook until done.
That’s basically what those fancy Japanese symbols on the package say. Pretty cool, right?
You’re probably not going to be able to eat all 3 pancakes. So, let’s call a serving a pancake and a half.
65¢ per serving.
